Audit Senior – Public Accounting | Gaithersburg, MD (Hybrid)
gpac has partnered with a well-established and growing public accounting firm in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking an Audit Senior who is ready to take on leadership in engagements, client communication, and mentorship. With continued expansion and a full pipeline heading into the next busy season, this is the final open role needed to complete the firm’s growth plan — making this a high-impact, visible opportunity.
Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements
Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and staffing
Apply strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, SSARS and quality management standards
Identify and resolve technical and operational issues
Perform technical research as needed
Build trusted client relationships through exceptional service
Train, coach, and mentor staff — supporting ongoing career development
Engage in firm, industry, networking, or volunteer initiatives
4–7 years of public accounting audit experience
Construction industry experience strongly preferred
CPA preferred (required for supervisor track and above)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage complex engagements with confidence and efficiency
Salary Range: $80K–$120K (target around $90K–$95K DOE)
401(k) with 4% match
