Job Title: Purchasing Manager – Steel Fabrication
Job Type: Full-time

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement efforts for our steel fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing or logistics within the construction industry, preferably with specific experience in steel fabrication. This role requires attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase steel and fabrication-related materials in line with project specifications and timelines

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors and suppliers

  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and project managers to meet demand

  • Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and cost reports

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline procurement processes

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing or logistics experience in the construction industry

  • Experience with steel fabrication or a related field strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of steel grades, fabrication components, and supply chain dynamics

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Attributes:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Familiarity with project-based purchasing and job costing
