Job Description

Overview: A respected and well-established healthcare facility in South Dakota is seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead its clinical team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all nursing operations and ensure high-quality, compliant patient care

  • Manage and support nursing staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations

  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations

  • Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

  • Monitor quality assurance and prepare for regulatory audits and inspections

  • Assist with departmental budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or ability to obtain

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN required; MSN or healthcare management experience preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care, acute, or skilled nursing settings

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and best practices

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
