We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is highly focused on equipment reliability, CNC machine rebuilding, and ensuring optimal uptime across production operations. The ideal candidate is a working leader who is comfortable on the floor and capable of troubleshooting, rebuilding, and improving complex manufacturing equipment.
This position will manage a small maintenance team of 2 to 3 technicians and will be responsible for all equipment, building, and property maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance operations across all production equipment and facility systems
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and rebuilding of CNC equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and equipment reliability
- Diagnose and repair machining equipment issues on the plant floor including CNC mills, lathes, and automated systems
- Support and execute equipment rebuilds, retrofits, and upgrades as needed
- Manage a small maintenance team of 2 to 3 technicians, providing direction, training, and development
- Coordinate outside contractors for specialized repairs and facility projects when needed
- Maintain facility infrastructure including building systems, utilities, and property upkeep
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA requirements in all maintenance activities
- Track and manage maintenance-related downtime, parts inventory, and repair costs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and reliability
- Partner with production, engineering, and operations teams to support manufacturing goals
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with CNC equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilding
- Background in machining environments including CNC mills, lathes, or similar precision equipment
- Proven ability to work directly on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Prior leadership experience managing small maintenance teams or working as a lead technician
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment and facility systems
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC controls and automation systems
- Background in fabrication, machining, or heavy industrial manufacturing
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments
- Experience managing facility maintenance in addition to production equipment
- Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
