Job Description

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Seeking a Field Service Engineer who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and is comfortable traveling up to 35%. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving complex equipment issues, and supporting customers through installation, troubleshooting, and system optimization.

Responsibilities 

• Perform onsite troubleshooting, repairs, and warranty service on industrial equipment

• Program and debug PLCs using ladder, STL, and structured control languages and be able to program PLCs.

• Lead implementation and commissioning of PLC/HMI upgrades and process control systems

• Analyze system and equipment performance to identify root causes and recommend improvements

• Install electrical equipment and controls using detailed drawings, diagrams, and specifications

• Work with robotics, automation systems, and vision technology

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and technical manuals

• Support customers with safe operation, configuration, and maintenance of industrial machinery

• Collaborate with internal teams to validate designs, conduct testing, and ensure systems meet end-user needs

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on maintenance and repair experience

• Solid knowledge of PLCs (both troubleshooting and programming), robotics, industrial controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation

• Skilled in diagnosing faults, replacing components, and restoring equipment to safe operation

• Comfortable operating, servicing, and troubleshooting large machinery and production equipment

• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently in the field

• Familiarity with vision systems, CNC equipment, and automation technologies

• Valid driver's license; forklift certification and journeyman electrician credentials are a plus

• Ability to travel up to 35%
