Estimator

We are looking for an Estimator to join our growing team! The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project specifications and developing estimates for the cost of materials and labor required for various millwork and cabinetry projects, for both residential and commercial projects. The Estimator works closely with project managers, sales teams, and production staff to ensure that designs are accurate and meet client expectations while ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and within budget.

Job Type: Full Time, On-site

Responsibilities for the Estimator:

  • Creating drawings and designs for cabinetry, millwork and casework utilizing design and estimating software.
  • Provide technical support to production staff during the manufacturing process as needed
  • Periodically visit job sites to take measurements and to confirm design specifications based on scope of work and customers expectations.
  • Using experience and knowledge as they relate to building codes, life safety, and accessibility
  • Responsible for material lists, estimates, measurements, specs, and builds
  • Managing and estimating several projects for residential and commercial clients daily
  • Working with suppliers and vendors for product information, lead-times, and shipping details
  • Determining and adequately meeting project schedules & deadlines
  • Staying on budget while providing material within the project scope

 

Requirements of the Designer/Estimator:

  • Minimum 3+ years of Design/Drafting and Estimating experience in the construction and building materials industries.
  • Proficient utilizing AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite and/or other relevant estimating and drafting software
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Highly proficient in reading and doing takeoffs of construction- and shop drawings, blueprints, and specs.
  • Firm understanding of mathematics, engineering, and general construction knowledge
  • Efficient organizational and time managements skills
