Civil Estimator

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator in the greater Cleveland area to prepare cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects in earthwork. The Earthwork Superintendent is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the project. This position will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the project, including material, equipment, subcontractors, and labor. While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it is essential that the Earthwork Superintendent be organized, possess good judgment skills, communicate effectively, and have technical knowledge.


Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans and specifications
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing
  • Work with project managers and engineers to develop bids
  • Maintain estimating databases and documentation
  • Reports to: Foreman

Estimator Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
  • Earthwork or excavating experience preferred
  • Degree in civil enginneering or construction preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret Mass Excavation diagrams and formulate efficient earthmoving operations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactive, self-motivating, problem solver
  • Good communication skills and team collaboration
