Position: Steel Erection Estimator (Remote)

Now, we’re seeking an Estimator to help us win and deliver the next generation of landmark projects.
What You’ll Do:
As an Estimator you will play a pivotal role in shaping project scope, budgets, and execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Review drawings, specifications, and request for proposals (RFPs) to understand project requirements
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (steel, concrete, connections, labor, equipment)
- Prepare cost estimates, direct costs, indirects, overheads, and contingency allowances
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Work closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to validate constructability assumptions
- Develop and present bid packages and proposals to management and clients
- Monitor and maintain estimation databases and historical cost records
- Provide value-engineering input to optimize cost, schedule, and constructability
- Assist in post‑bid work: reviewing subcontractor scopes, clarifications, and incorporating changes
- Support change order pricing and claims as needed
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience estimating structural / specialty construction (steel erection, precast, heavy structure)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, structures, steel detailing, connections, concrete, erection sequencing
- Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating or equivalent)
- Experience with Excel models, cost databases, and bid spreadsheets
- Excellent negotiation skills and vendor/subcontractor sourcing relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication: ability to present to management and clients
- High attention to detail, with ability to think holistically (schedule, risk, logistics)
- Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel to job sites for bidding, site visits, or support (as required)
