Accounts Receivable Coordinator:

A highly reputable Affordable Housing Real Estate Developer and Property Management Firm in Northern New Jersey is looking for a full-time Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join their team. This is a wonderful close-knit family-owned business which has been successfully operating throughout the Tri-State area for 50+ years. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and possess a background in affordable housing, Section 8, and government subsidized tax credit.

On-Site position.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and processing of rent payments and tracking outstanding receivables for a portfolio of affordable housing multifamily properties.
  • Maintain billing systems.
  • Generating invoice and account statements.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records.
  • Reconcile tenant accounts.
  • Producing monthly financial and management reports.
  • Research and investigate any discrepancies in invoices to determine the accuracy of charges.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding billing issues.  
  • Assist with any additional financial management or analysis as needed.

 Requirements:

  • College degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, but not required.  
  • 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience with a real estate development or investment firm is required.
  • Strong understanding of Section 8, HUD, and government tax credit subsidized housing.
  • Must have strong familiarity with New Jersey Housing Authority regulations.
  • Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong math aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex legal documents.
  • Basic knowledge of real estate tax is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MRI, Yardi, or other related real estate accounting software is a plus.
