Assurance Senior

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Overview

A national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Assurance Senior in Salt Lake City to coordinate the day-to-day in-charge duties of audit planning, fieldwork and wrap-up, prepare financial statements with disclosures and test client control systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audit planning, fieldwork and wrap-up as in-charge
• Document, validate and assess the design and operating effectiveness of client internal controls
• Draft financial statements with disclosures and apply new pronouncements
• Review client SEC filings and plan and execute Section 404 internal control audits
• Formulate and communicate the audit plan and apply GAAS to complex issues
• Develop draft planning memoranda, audit programs and budgets
• Supervise, review and provide feedback to audit associates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics (or other degree plus CPA)
• 2+ years of audit or public accounting experience
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exam and actively pursuing it; CPA preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and Sarbanes-Oxley
• Strong communication, analytical and project management skills
