Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Sales Manager to lead our commercial insurance sales team. This individual will be responsible for driving new business growth, managing producer performance, developing strategic sales plans, and ensuring superior client satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial insurance, a proven sales record, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our client base for commercial insurance lines.
Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of commercial lines producers and account executives, fostering a high-performance culture.
Client Development: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships; support the team in identifying prospects and closing deals.
Pipeline Management: Oversee CRM utilization to ensure accurate tracking of sales activity, pipeline development, and forecasting.
Training & Development: Deliver regular coaching and training to producers on sales techniques, product knowledge, and regulatory updates.
Collaboration: Partner with underwriting, marketing, and service teams to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to client needs.
Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and ensure competitive positioning.
Compliance: Ensure sales practices comply with insurance laws and internal policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance sales, previous managerial or leadership experience preferred
Active Property & Casualty license required
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and leading successful sales teams
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products (e.g., general liability, workers’ comp, commercial auto, property, etc.)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proficient in CRM and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, AMS360, Applied Epic)
Experience working in an agency or brokerage environment
