Gpac has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Director position in KY. The company produces sliced meat for one of the largest big-box stores in America. This plant operates 24/7 across three shifts and employs about 500 people. They are recession-proof and have emerged stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic, with two facilities already running 24/7 and a third on the way. Employees are well-rewarded for their efforts, and it's a fun, team-oriented place to work, complete with free lunch on Mondays. The company is expanding rapidly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain QC policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective actions.
  • Lead the plant's SQF certification program.
  • Perform customer audits and annual SQF audits.
  • Develop and maintain the HACCP plan and train plant personnel on quality programs.
  • Communicate with USDA regarding preoperational or operational inspections.
  • Develop and maintain quality control systems/programs, including Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbiological Testing, and Defense.
  • Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
  • Perform microbiological tests on finished products, environmental, and direct food contact surfaces.

Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills, analytical abilities, and experience with equipment and food-processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry.
  • Familiarity with quality process control, HACCP, SSOP, and SOP.
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • Five-plus years of quality control experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP Certification (preferred).
  • SQF Certification (preferred).
  • Real USDA experience.
  • Experience working in a Ready-to-Eat (RTE) environment.
  • Experience with multi-location operations.

Pay Range: $120k to $140k + Bonus + Benefits
