Claims Specialist Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Claims Specialist to join our client company growing team. You will gather claim information from clients and report to carriers. You will also manage client inquiries, review policies, and discuss deductibles, coverages, and liability determinations. To be successful as a Claims Specialist, you should have excellent organizational and people skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Claims Specialist:

• Function as a primary claim contact for Personal Lines accounts
• Handle first reports and all inquiries from insured, claimant, and insurance carrier
• Communicate throughout the claim process by informing clients of claims procedures, timelines, surcharges, and deductibles to reinforce our advocacy role with the client
• Use the operating systems to perform prompt processing and follow up on claims from first placement through resolution
• Record and keep claims information in a database system
• Perform other clerical tasks, as needed

Job Requirements of the Claims Specialist:

• At least 2 years or more of experience in claims or personal lines insurance
• Knowledge of personal lines auto and home coverages. Opportunity to gain experience with commercial too
• P&C license is HIGHLY desirable  
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• MS Office, knowledge of AMS360 is preferred
