Job Description

A well-established residential home builder with a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This company builds high-quality homes and values collaboration, integrity, and excellence across all departments — from construction through closeout.


Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and assist with monthly financial close.

  • Manage job cost tracking, ensuring expenses are accurately coded to projects.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and variance explanations for management.

  • Process vendor payments, review invoices, and maintain accurate vendor files.

  • Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.

  • Work closely with the Controller/Owner to improve processes and maintain accurate financial data.

  • Assist with year-end reporting, audits, and tax preparation as needed.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, homebuilding, or real estate development.

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).

  • Strong understanding of job costing, general ledger, and financial reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office software.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with field and office teams.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
