Position Overview: As a Legal Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our legal team with administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to attorneys, managing legal documents, and assisting with various legal projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer and screen incoming calls, take messages, and relay information to appropriate personnel
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and email correspondence
- Coordinate document production and assembly for court filings and other legal proceedings
- Assist attorneys with research, document review, and case management tasks
- Provide general administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, and faxing
- Collaborate with legal team members to ensure efficient workflow and completion of tasks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- Previous experience in a legal office environment or administrative role is highly desirable
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and document formats
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
