A top mechanical contractor is expanding its national team and offering a rare opportunity for individuals with a technical foundation and a desire to learn to step into a Traveling Project Manager role. This is an accelerated-growth path for people with curiosity, initiative, and the drive to develop their skills in mechanical construction.
You’ll gain real leadership experience, be mentored by seasoned PMs and field leaders, and work on large-scale mechanical scopes in high-tech facilities including data centers, healthcare, industrial, and manufacturing builds.

Learn mechanical project management through hands-on work at active job sites
Support planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and daily project coordination
Work directly with engineers, BIM/VDC teams, superintendents, and fabrication shops
Assist in managing field crews and subcontractors
Help problem-solve issues in real time and keep work progressing
Gain exposure to full project lifecycle from kickoff to closeout
Build communication and leadership skills through client and general contractor interaction
Clear path into Project Engineer, Assistant PM, and full PM roles
Mentorship from highly experienced mechanical project leaders
Exposure to complex mechanical systems, field operations, scheduling, and cost control
Hands-on learning that accelerates technical and leadership skill development
National projects offer unique, high-value experience not found in stationary roles
6 days per week, 10-hour shifts
Overtime paid beyond normal hours
Daily per diem while traveling
Company-covered travel expenses
Typically home every 3–4 weeks
Education or experience in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, HVAC, Plumbing, or related areas (or equivalent experience)
Interest in mechanical systems, project planning, and field operations
Strong computer and scheduling skills (P6/MS Project a plus but not required)
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow into a leadership role
Ability to communicate clearly and work well with diverse teams
Open to traveling full-time
