Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in our memory care unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in memory care and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to residents with cognitive impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of the memory care unit
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of residents
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to nursing and memory care
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' health and well-being, making necessary adjustments to care plans
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure holistic care for residents
- Manage staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage at all times
- Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff on memory care best practices
- Monitor and manage the budget for the nursing department
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for residents, families, and staff
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in memory care
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to memory care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
