Ranch Hand – Idaho

Are you passionate about cattle and ready to bring your skills to a dynamic ranch? We’re a well-established 2,500-acre Idaho ranch running approximately 200 cows with a small feedlot, and we’re looking for a reliable Ranch Hand to join our team.

About Us:
We specialize in advanced cattle reproduction techniques, including extensive embryo transfer work under consignment. We use Diary Tech software for automated heat checking and take pride in our high standards and efficient operation.

Position Overview:
As our Ranch Hand, you will be a true jack-of-all-trades assistant, supporting all aspects of ranch operations. A background in cow/calf management will be essential, along with experience in advanced reproduction techniques like Artificial Insemination (AI) and embryo transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cow/calf herd management and reproductive procedures (AI, embryo transfer)

  • Operate and maintain water pivots and irrigation systems

  • Manage weed control throughout the ranch

  • Support catalog preparation for sales

  • Utilize Diary Tech software for heat checking and record-keeping

  • Assist with daily feedlot duties as needed

  • General ranch maintenance and upkeep

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with cow/calf operations

  • Familiarity with advanced reproduction techniques such as AI and embryo transfer

  • Ability to operate ranch equipment including water pivots

  • Strong organizational skills for sale catalog preparation

  • Experience with technology-based reproduction software

  • Fluent Spanish is a plus but not required

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid driver’s license
