Transportation Road Engineer
A well-established and growing civil engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Transportation Road Engineer to join its transportation practice. This role offers the opportunity to support public-sector transportation projects and work on meaningful infrastructure that impacts local and regional communities.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, project coordination, and client interaction, and who wants to be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Design and develop roadway infrastructure projects, including highways, local streets, and intersections
Perform site assessments and support data collection for project planning and design
Prepare engineering plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates
Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal standards and regulations
Support project schedules and assist with managing deliverables and timelines
Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive technical support
Conduct quality control and quality assurance reviews of roadway designs
Collaborate with internal teams across multiple disciplines to deliver integrated projects
Perform additional duties as needed to support project success
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
5+ years of experience working on transportation projects for state DOTs, municipalities, or counties
Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and related transportation design software
