Our client, a glass and glazing company in Brookings, SD, is looking for an Estimator / Project Manager to join their team. You do NOT need glass industry experience. If you understand construction, can read plans, and like owning a project from takeoff to closeout, we want to talk to you.

What you will do
- Review plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Build and submit competitive bids and proposals to general contractors and owners
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Use digital takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff) to measure and document scope
- Hand off awarded work and manage projects through completion: schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and budgets
- Coordinate with field crews, fabrication/shop, suppliers, and general contractors to keep jobs on schedule
- Track project costs, buyout, and billing; communicate status to leadership and customers
- Build lasting relationships with GCs, architects, and vendors
What you bring
- 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, project management, project engineering, or a related role (ideal)
- General construction knowledge – commercial, industrial, or residential
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Strong math, organization, and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication with customers, subs, and crews
- Comfort with Microsoft Office/Excel and willingness to learn estimating and project software
Preferred (nice to have, not required)
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software
- Background in a specialty trade: glazing, doors/hardware, curtain wall, metal panels, roofing, drywall, HVAC, electrical, etc.
- Scheduling experience (MS Project, Procore, or similar)
- Experience with subcontractor pricing, scope leveling, and buyout
- Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (experience can substitute)
