Job Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Britton, SD

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and tools according to technical drawings and specifications. A strong understanding of machining principles and a commitment to quality and safety are essential for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or grinders) to perform various machining operations.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements.

  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine settings to complete tasks.

  • Inspect and measure finished parts using precision instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.

  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and minimize waste.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.

  • Document production data and complete necessary logs or reports.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar role.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak) is preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends if needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
