VDC/BIM Coordinator

A well-established and growing residential home builder is seeking a VDC/BIM Coordinator to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of design, technology, and construction while supporting the successful delivery of residential projects.

The ideal candidate has experience coordinating construction drawings, maintaining BIM models, and collaborating with architects, engineers, and field teams. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys improving project coordination through technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models throughout the design and construction process.
  • Prepare and modify residential construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP plans to identify coordination issues before construction.
  • Work closely with project managers, field personnel, architects, engineers, and trade partners to resolve design conflicts.
  • Assist with clash detection and model coordination to improve project efficiency.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and ensure project documentation remains current.
  • Support preconstruction and construction teams with design coordination and technical documentation.
  • Help implement and improve VDC/BIM workflows and standards across projects.
  • Ensure models and drawings meet company and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in VDC, BIM coordination, drafting, or construction technology.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM software is a plus.
  • Understanding of residential construction methods, plans, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Background

  • Residential homebuilding experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, and field operations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
