Job Description

Job Title: CNC Swiss Machinist
Location: Mesa, AZ


Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating Swiss-type CNC lathes (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tsugami) and be capable of producing complex, high-tolerance components. You will play a key role in the production of precision parts, working from engineering drawings and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and adjust Swiss-style CNC machines to produce small, intricate, high-precision parts.

  • Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

  • Select appropriate tooling and program machine settings based on part requirements.

  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot and optimize machine programs and setups to improve efficiency and part quality.

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on Swiss CNC equipment.

  • Maintain tight tolerances and document quality control checks throughout production runs.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.

  • Keep accurate records of production activities, tool usage, and machine performance.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating Swiss-style CNC lathes (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC control interfaces (e.g., Fanuc, Mitsubishi).

  • Experience working with small parts and tight tolerances (±0.0002" or better).

  • Proficient with measuring and inspection tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and part drawings.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Lift and carry materials or tooling up to 50 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity and precision handling of small components.

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, lubricants, and shop noise.
