A well-established commercial general contractor in the Chicago area is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in food and beverage construction. This role is focused on complex manufacturing, processing, and distribution facilities, so we are looking for someone who understands the unique demands of these environments.
The Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with owners, subcontractors, field teams, and internal leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead food and beverage construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and change orders
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, design teams, and owners
- Oversee project financials and maintain accurate forecasting
- Identify potential issues early and keep projects moving
- Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project
- Lead project teams and provide direction to Project Managers, APMs, and Project Engineers
- Ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget expectations are met
Qualifications
- 8+ years of commercial construction experience
- Senior Project Manager or strong Project Manager ready for the next step
- General contractor experience strongly preferred
- Food & beverage construction experience required
- Experience with food processing, manufacturing, production, or distribution facilities
- Strong understanding of complex MEP systems and coordination
- Proven experience managing projects from start to finish
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
