A top construction company is looking to expand their team to include an MDOT/Municipal Estimator/Project Manager. The Estimator/Project Manager will be responsible for the management of projects from inception to completion. You will oversee and manage the construction effort to ensure projects are completed timely and safely in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
As Estimator/Project Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Estimating responsibilities:
- Utilize bid documents and estimating software to perform and produce accurate take-offs
- Generate thorough estimates and proposals considering materials, labor, and equipment
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing
- Submit bids in accordance with the requirements of the bid documents
Project Manager responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
- Coordinate with General Superintendents to review scope of work, production rates, and supplier information
- Approve job specific vendor and subcontractor invoices
- Prepare and draft pay applications and invoices
- Monitor project throughout the job life cycle to ensure the job adheres to the budget constraints, specifications, and quality standards
- Estimate and quote extra work while following up with the customer to ensure change orders are processed
- Ensure that project controls such as safety forms, MSL’s, submittals, RFI's, logs and documents are organized, submitted, closed and complete
- Communicate regularly with customers to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction
Essential functions:
- Experience in estimating and managing MDOT/Municipal projects is preferred
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Experience with estimating and scheduling software
- Proficient in MS Office
- Attention to detail

- Time management skills
- Ability to analyze complex problems, develop creative solutions, and make sound decisions
