Job Summary: The BSA Officer is pivotal in ensuring the bank's compliance with all applicable BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations. This role involves meticulous monitoring and analysis to support the bank’s compliance framework and regulatory reporting requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of all relevant regulations and laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Currency Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Utilize advanced FCRM software to conduct thorough reviews of high-risk customer accounts, analyzing and investigating suspicious activities.
  • Manage daily and monthly transaction monitoring workflows, documenting findings and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct and respond to 314(a) searches and maintain the CTR Exemption list.
  • Spearhead the BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessment process, including implementation, maintenance, and annual reporting.
  • Continually assess the effectiveness of the bank’s AML strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with various bank departments to support compliance audits and examinations.
  • Provide regular training and updates to bank staff on BSA/AML requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all bank policies regarding customer information.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong commitment to regulatory compliance and detailed knowledge of BSA/AML policies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computer systems, including Fiserv/FCRM, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in banking or financial services, with direct experience in BSA/AML compliance.
  • BSA/AML/OFAC certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Fiserv/FCRM systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent verbal and written communication.
  • Needs to sit, stand, and move within the office environment.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no special physical demands required.
