Maintenance/Refrigeration Technician in North Valley Stream

Job Description

A well-established, safety-focused manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production reliability, equipment uptime, and facility operations. This is a hands-on role for a technically strong individual who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and utility systems to minimize downtime

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation

  • Support industrial refrigeration and utility systems (compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, condensers, etc.)

  • Conduct basic electrical and electronic maintenance independently

  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions

  • Support minor facility maintenance and general plant upkeep

  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors as needed

  • Complete safety inspections and ensure compliance with industrial safety standards

  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities

  • Occasionally assist with production workflow coordination based on equipment output

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6–8 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment

  • One recognized maintenance-related certification (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, or maintenance reliability)

  • Strong working knowledge of industrial safety practices

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience

  • Multiple technical certifications (PLC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or maintenance reliability)

  • Experience supporting high-volume production environments

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to temperature fluctuations, moving equipment, electrical systems, and refrigerants

  • Occasional nights, weekends, and overtime as required

  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs and work with hand and power tools
