Controller Community Bank | Linn County, Missouri

A well-established and steadily growing community bank in Linn County, Missouri is confidentially seeking an experienced accounting professional to serve as Controller. This institution is deeply rooted in its communities and operates with a clear mission: to be the trusted financial partner for individuals, businesses, and agricultural customers it serves.

This role is ideal for a proven senior accountant ready to step into a Controller position or an experienced Controller who values community banking, transparency, and long-term relationships over high-stress, high-volume models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Call Report preparation and submission

  • Investment and bond portfolio oversight

  • Daily, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting for executive leadership

  • Internal and external audit coordination

  • Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) oversight and reporting

  • Vendor management and financial reporting

  • Contract review and administration

  • Business continuity planning, training, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

  • CPA or Master’s degree (MPA/MAcc) preferred but not required

  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting or banking experience

  • Community bank experience strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated history of successful projects and financial leadership

  • High attention to detail, integrity, and clear communication skills
