Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Process Technician with expertise in programming, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient production through accurate programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on machining experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and set up machines according to blueprints
  • Program CNC machines using software to model cutting paths and optimize production
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure finished products meet design specifications
  • Adjust cutting paths, tooling, and machine settings to improve efficiency and quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or programming issues as they arise
  • Train operators on proper CNC machine use and programming procedures
  • Recommend improvements for safety, productivity, and waste reduction
  • Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype machining and first piece approvals
  • Manage preventative maintenance efforts and develop TPM standards
  • Assist in capital improvement projects involving new equipment and technology
  • Track and analyze performance data to support production efficiency


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer (horizontal lathe preferred)
  • Proficiency in CNC setup, code troubleshooting, tooling, and machining technologies
  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software; PLC programming experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, THICAM, and Esprit a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of Lean principles, continuous improvement, and ISO 9001 standards
  • Strong math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements, and conversions)
