Associate Attorney – Insurance Defense (CA & AZ Licensed)
Location: Long Beach, CA (Preferred) | Remote (AZ or CA) | Hybrid Options
Practice Areas: Insurance Defense, Commercial Litigation, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, General Liability

Overview:
A respected defense firm is seeking an Associate Attorney licensed in both California and Arizona to join its Long Beach office. This role focuses on insurance defense matters across both states, including commercial litigation, professional liability, premises liability, and general liability cases.

Candidates may work in-office or hybrid from Long Beach. Fully remote arrangements will be considered for attorneys located in Arizona or within California who meet the dual-licensure requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a broad mix of insurance defense and civil litigation matters
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and case strategy materials
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations in CA and AZ as needed
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and internal teams
  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues across multiple offices

Requirements:

  • Active bar admission in both California and Arizona
  • 2–5+ years of relevant insurance defense or civil litigation experience
  • Strong writing, research, and litigation skills
  • Experience with commercial litigation, professional liability, premises liability, or general liability preferred

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $130,000 – $180,000, based on experience
  • Tiered bonus program for hours billed above 1,850, increasing every 50 hours
  • Annual bonus potential up to $50,000

Work Options:

  • Long Beach office preferred for CA-based candidates
  • Hybrid flexibility available
  • Remote allowed for candidates in Arizona or California who are dual-licensed
