Estimator - Bridge/Roadway Construction

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Estimator with 3-8 years of experience in estimating heavy highway construction scopes; concrete structures for bridge construction projects and some roadway construction projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating project costs, materials, labor, and timelines to provide accurate estimates for bidding and project planning. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate cost estimates for concrete bridge construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify key elements of the project.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary data.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to obtain pricing and determine project feasibility.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and assist in preparing proposals and bids.
  • Analyze and assess risks related to project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases, cost tracking systems, and project cost reports.
  • Assist in value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
  • Provide ongoing support to the project team during the construction phase by addressing cost-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • 3-8 years of experience in estimating concrete structures, specifically in bridge/roadway construction or similar civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes, with an emphasis on concrete work.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
