CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY – Purchasing Manager (Luxury Residential Construction)

Location: Greater Columbia SC

An established and growing luxury residential builder is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys process improvement, technology, collaboration, and working in a high-quality custom home environment.

This company is looking for someone with a modern mindset who is excited to leverage technology and AI to improve purchasing and estimating processes. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities from contract through construction.
  • Solicit bids and negotiate with trade partners and suppliers.
  • Issue purchase orders and coordinate material procurement.
  • Support estimating with pricing updates and cost analysis.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Track budgets, job costs, and purchasing schedules.
  • Identify process improvements and help develop technology-driven purchasing systems.
  • Partner with construction, estimating, accounting, and leadership to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential purchasing, estimating, or procurement experience.
  • Experience with custom, luxury, semi-custom, or design-build residential construction preferred.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of residential construction methods and materials.
  • Experience with Buildertrend, Excel, and other construction software.
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing AI and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary competitive and based on experience.
  • Performance bonus up to 10% of base salary.
