We are seeking a knowledgeable Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing and long-term care facility. The DON will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment for staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Oversee all nursing staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and respect among the nursing team.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies.

Clinical Oversight

  • Develop, implement, and monitor resident care plans to ensure high standards of individualized care.
  • Supervise clinical operations, including infection control, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic resident care.

Quality Assurance & Improvement

  • Lead quality assurance programs to monitor and improve care outcomes.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and implement evidence-based practices to enhance care delivery.
  • Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction and trust.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain knowledge of nursing and healthcare regulations, ensuring facility adherence to all standards.
  • Prepare for and lead state and federal surveys, responding effectively to any identified deficiencies.

Administrative Duties

  • Collaborate with the Administrator to develop and manage the nursing department budget.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure the facility operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in Michigan required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, including MDS, CMS guidelines, and Quality Measures.
