Confidential Operations Manager Opportunity – Building Materials Distributor in Scenic Rural California

Our client, a well-established distributor specializing in lumber, roofing, siding, and related products, is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day activities across two retail sites and a cabinet shop in a breathtaking rural California location. This role offers the chance to immerse yourself in a close-knit community surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate a slower pace of life while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-site operations, including inventory, staffing, customer service, and contractor sales.
  • Drive profitability through P&L oversight, cost control, and team accountability.
  • Foster a servant leadership culture, motivating a team of ~70 to deliver exceptional results.
  • Handle hands-on tasks in a dynamic environment, with travel between sites (about 35 minutes apart).

Qualifications:

  • Proven background in lumber or building materials retail/distribution, with experience rising through sales into management.
  • Strong P&L, leadership, and customer-focused skills; no certifications required.
  • Open to full relocation to rural California (scenic, mountain-adjacent area with outdoor recreation opportunities).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Realistic first-year compensation - $200K including bonuses.
