Insurance Defense Attorney

A litigation firm in San Diego is seeking an attorney with insurance defense experience to join its growing practice.

This role offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload of personal injury, premises liability, motor vehicle, and general liability matters while working closely with experienced litigators in a collaborative environment. Attorneys are given meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to take an active role in case strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances
  • Communicate directly with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure
  • Maintain case deadlines and manage an active caseload

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license
  • 3+ years of litigation experience
  • Insurance defense experience preferred
  • Experience handling depositions and court appearances
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage files independently and work effectively as part of a team

Salary: $160,000 – $230,000
