A reputable civil contractor near Bryant, South Dakota is urgently hiring an Estimator. This role is responsible for gathering quantities, collecting pricing, working with subs and suppliers, and building accurate, competitive bids in HeavyBid.
What You’ll Do
Gather and calculate material quantities (SY, LF, CY, EA, etc.)
Compile data and prepare bid estimates
Request and track subcontractor quotes (DBE/MBE awareness required)
Collect material pricing from vendors
Build bids in HeavyBid, including activities, crews, equipment, and production rates
Prepare and send final proposals to owners/GCs on time
Follow up on bid results
Complete other estimating duties as needed
What You Need
Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering & 0–2 years estimating experience
Experience with construction bidding software (HeavyBid preferred)
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Clear communication and the ability to work with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors
Strong problem-solving, organization, and data-gathering skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
