Residential Construction Assistant Project Manager
A well-established and growing residential construction company is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to grow their career while working alongside an experienced project management team on high-quality residential projects.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving smoothly from pre-construction through completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of residential construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project schedules
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents
- Assist with project budgets, estimates, purchase orders, and change orders
- Track project progress, costs, schedules, and deliverables
- Communicate with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Attend project meetings and maintain accurate project documentation
- Assist with scheduling inspections and coordinating jobsite activities
- Identify potential project issues and work with the team to develop solutions
- Assist with quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
- Support the Project Manager from pre-construction through project closeout
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Qualifications
- 2+ years of residential construction experience
- Previous experience in project coordination, estimating, or construction management preferred
- Strong understanding of residential construction processes and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
- Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related degree preferred but not required
