A well-established and growing construction company is seeking a skilled HR Generalist to join its team. This role is ideal for a proactive, people-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting both office and field employees. The HR Generalist will play a key role in employee relations, recruiting, compliance, onboarding, and overall HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day HR functions including employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Assist with full-cycle recruitment for both field and office roles: sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating onboarding.
Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth integration into the company.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
Administer benefits programs, open enrollment, and respond to employee questions.
Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy as needed.
Partner with leadership to promote a positive, safe, and productive workplace culture.
Maintain HRIS data integrity and help optimize HR processes.
Support investigations, corrective actions, and documentation.
Qualifications
2–5+ years of HR Generalist experience (construction or related industry strongly preferred).
Strong working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.).
Experience supporting hourly field staff highly valued.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency with HRIS systems; ability to learn new software quickly.
PHR certification or higher is a plus (not required).
