Commercial Estimator / Project Engineer – Drywall & Painting

A well-established, employee-owned commercial specialty contractor is seeking an Estimator/Project Engineer to join its growing Minneapolis-area team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career construction experience who wants to build a long-term career in estimating and project management. 

Requirements:

• 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, painting, coatings, or specialty contracting
• Previous estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or field experience
• On-Screen Takeoff and/or Quick Bid experience
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications 
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Desire to build a long-term career within the commercial construction industry Comfortable working in an in-office, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities:

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform detailed takeoffs for drywall, framing, ceilings, insulation, and related scopes
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Prepare proposals, bid packages, exclusions, and clarifications
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value-engineering opportunities
• Assist with change-order pricing and project turnover after award

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

• Competitive base salary: $50,000 – $75,000+ (depending on experience and market)
