Project Manager – Commercial Drywall & Painting
An established commercial specialty contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Minneapolis-area operation.
Requirements:
- Previous commercial construction Project Management experience
- Drywall, painting, coatings, or specialty subcontracting experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with union field labor is a plus
- Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, documentation, and field coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Stable employment history and interest in long-term growth
- Ability to work collaboratively
Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial construction projects from handoff through completion
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, vendors, and field operations
- Monitor budgets, costs, production, and overall project performance
- Maintain communication with general contractors, clients, field teams, and internal leadership
- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation
- Manage change orders and additional work as required
- Visit jobsites and proactively address project challenges
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, schedule, and financial expectations
- Build and maintain strong client and industry relationships
Compensation, Benefits & Perks:
- Competitive base salary starting around: $80,000 – $90,000+ (depending on experience and market)
- Individual performance bonus potential
- Potential for approximately $10,000–$20,000+ in additional performance compensation based on role and results
