Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager – Healthcare Construction

About the Opportunity:

We’re seeking a sharp, motivated Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support complex healthcare construction projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient centers, and specialized care facilities. This is a key opportunity to join a reputable general contractor with a strong presence in the healthcare sector, known for delivering high-quality, technically challenging projects on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with or manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes

  • Support project scheduling and coordination with superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Track costs, budgets, and change orders

  • Collaborate closely with project managers and senior leadership

  • Ensure all work complies with healthcare-specific codes, regulations, and infection control requirements (ICRA/ILSM)

  • Conduct site visits and support field coordination

  • Help maintain relationships with healthcare clients, architects, and trade partners


Ideal Background:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in commercial construction (PE or APM level)

  • Strong preference for candidates with healthcare/hospital construction experience

  • Familiarity with OSHPD/HCAI or other healthcare compliance requirements is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms

  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, team-first attitude
