We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to support the General Manager in leading the day-to-day activities of our warehouse and logistics operations.  This role is more than supporting daily workflow—you will help shape the processes, structure, and culture of a growing facility. Your leadership will have a direct impact on operational performance, team development, and the long-term success of one of the industry’s most respected names in produce handling and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and monitor performance indicators that drive results in safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and damage reduction.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork and accountability.
  • Balance labor needs with daily workflow demands across all departments.
  • Review current warehouse and dock processes, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize labor and space utilization.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to oversee performance management, coaching, and professional development efforts.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and establish standard processes that support greater consistency, customer service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure achievement of production KPIs, including RFT (Right First Time), OTIF (On-Time, In-Full), and schedule attainment.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and company requirements, including food safety and regulatory standards.
  • Apply policies and procedures fairly and consistently across all levels.
  • Clearly communicate facility goals, expectations, and company mission.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of operational leadership.
  • APICS or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of facility operations, materials handling, quality control, production flow, cost control, and distribution best practices.

Work Location: On-site/Bridgeton, New Jersey

Salary: $85000.00 - $120000.00
