Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Programmer proficient in Mastercam to develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for high-precision machining. This individual will play a critical role in improving efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Program Development: Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for 5-axis milling machines using Mastercam.
Process Optimization: Maximize machining efficiency by selecting appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials, including exotic superalloys.
Workholding & Fixture Design: Design and implement workholding fixtures to maintain machining accuracy and repeatability.
Quality Assurance: Inspect machined components, troubleshoot discrepancies, and adjust programs as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to ensure seamless production.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve programming, tooling, and machine-related issues.
Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, setup sheets, and process adjustments.
Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices to enhance precision, efficiency, and workflow.
Training & Mentorship: Support and train machinists on 5-axis CNC programming and machine operation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in Mastercam and 5-axis CNC programming.
Experience with tight-tolerance machining of metals and composites.
Knowledge of G-code, toolpath optimization, and fixture design.
Ability to interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
Problem-Solving & Collaboration:
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Education & Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
3+ years of experience in 5-axis CNC programming and machining.
Experience in the aerospace, energy, defense, or medical industries is a plus.
