Job Title: Quality Manager (CWI) – Structural Steel

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and a strong background in structural steel fabrication and erection. This role leads all quality control efforts, ensuring compliance with industry codes, welding standards, and project requirements. The position is flexible in seniority and can expand into estimating, production, or project management depending on the candidate’s additional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all quality control and inspection activities related to structural steel fabrication and welding.

  • Conduct inspections, review welds, and ensure full compliance with AWS, AISC, and project-specific standards.

  • Manage and maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective actions.

  • Lead and conduct AISC audits, ensuring readiness, compliance, and proper documentation.

  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and implement improvements.

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients regarding quality expectations and deliverables.

  • Optional responsibilities (based on experience): support estimating, production oversight, or project management tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.

  • Advanced experience in quality control within the structural steel industry.

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding procedures, industry codes, and AISC standards.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to take on additional tasks in estimating, production, or project management if applicable.
