Job Description

Shop Manager Role : We are seeking a Fabrication Shop Manager to join our team at our Structural Steel Fab shop. This role is pivotal in overseeing the fabrication processes for various construction projects, ensuring quality control and efficiency in all operations. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to maintaining project timelines by communicating daily with Project Managers, this individual will be able to keep a high morale within the shop employees, and must have a high attention to detail, as well as excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all fabrication operations to ensure timely project completion.
  • Coordinate with project managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Supervise fabrication staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards during all fabrication processes.
  • Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Implement efficient fabrication techniques to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies necessary for fabrication.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a fabrication management role within the construction industry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, metalworking, and fit-ups.
  • Familiarity with operating power tools and machinery such as press brake machines.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings proficiently.
