Position Overview

K-12 private school is seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and strategic Director of Admissions to lead and manage all aspects of our student admissions process. The Director of Admissions will be responsible for attracting, evaluating, and enrolling students who align with the values, mission, and academic standards of our school. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster relationships with prospective families, external partners, and the school community.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and talented student body.
  • Set annual enrollment targets, track progress, and ensure admissions goals are met in alignment with the school’s overall mission and vision.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of K-12 education trends and competitive offerings to adjust strategies accordingly.

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Represent the school at local and national educational fairs and events.
  • Cultivate relationships with feeder schools, community organizations, and educational consultants to expand the school’s reach.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, website content, and social media posts, to promote the school’s brand and offerings.

Application Management

  • Conduct the entire admissions process, from inquiry through to enrollment, ensuring that the process is smooth, transparent, and welcoming for all families.
  • Ensure all details of the Admissions process are completed.
  • Review student applications, manage the interview and testing processes, and provide thoughtful recommendations based on admissions criteria.
  • Work closely with school leadership, academic leaders, and other staff members to evaluate applicants and make final enrollment decisions.

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with prospective families, guiding them through the admissions journey.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to families, answering inquiries and providing information about the school’s programs, culture, and admissions process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective families regarding admissions-related matters.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Track and analyze admissions data, including application numbers, enrollment trends, and demographic breakdowns, to inform future strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the school leadership team regarding admissions progress, trends, and key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies, privacy regulations, and accreditation standards related to admissions.

Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to create a welcoming environment for new students and families.
  • Coordinate and host information sessions, open houses, and school tours, ensuring a personalized and informative experience.
  • Serve as a key ambassador for the school, promoting its strengths and aligning its offerings with the needs of prospective students and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in education, business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in school admissions, preferably in a K-12 setting.
  • Must be exceptionally detail oriented and conscientious.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with families, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of admissions software and database management.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and dynamic learning community.
