Position Overview:

Our client, a respected and long-standing institution in the banking industry, is actively seeking a Personal Banker for their new branch in Wheaton, IL. Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the bank's values and service standards, ensuring customers receive prompt and courteous service.

  • Cross-sell banking products to meet customer needs.

  • Handle inquiries over the phone and represent the bank at community events to foster new relationships.

  • Provide exceptional customer service including opening new accounts, issuing and redeeming certificates of deposit, and assisting customers with account-related issues.

  • Maintain compliance guidelines for opening and closing accounts and ensure proper identification and product suitability for customers.

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure friendly, efficient, and accurate bank operations.

  • Support branch operations including opening and closing the bank, processing night drop deposits, balancing cash drawers, and ordering supplies.

  • Assist with various back-office operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

This full-time position requires a 40-hour workweek with a regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM or 9 AM – 6 PM. The schedule may change based on bank needs and may include occasional attendance at banking functions and networking events outside of regular business hours.

Compensation and Generous Benefits Package:

The role offers an hourly rate of $23-$25, eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus, and a generous benefits package including 401(k) with ESOP, health, dental, vision, term life/AD&D, long-term disability, generous leave policies (vacation, personal, sick time), HSA, and tuition reimbursement.

Requirements:

  • High school education required; Associate's degree or higher in business or finance preferred.

  • A minimum of two years of retail banking experience.

  • Experience in customer sales, relationship management, and cross-selling skills.

  • Proven ability to develop product and compliance knowledge, solve problems, and work collaboratively.

  • Detailed work accuracy and cash handling skills are essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using computers for data entry, word processing, and MS Office.

  • Ability to learn and use the bank's data processing system effectively.
