We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the conceptualization and development of heavy equipment products. This role requires a strong R&D mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.
Your innovative design solutions will shape new equipment and enhance existing lines, supporting projects from early-stage development through prototyping and production.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design projects using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to develop heavy equipment components and assemblies
Apply engineering principles creatively to solve complex mechanical challenges in rugged, real-world environments
Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and testing to iterate on designs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for manufacturability and performance
Develop and maintain detailed technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs
Support prototyping and validation efforts, including hands-on product testing and design refinements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute fresh ideas to product development strategy
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Qualifications:
5-15 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in heavy equipment, machinery, or industrial product development
Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks highly preferred) and strong 2D drawing skills
Proven track record of leading R&D or product development efforts with tangible outcomes
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and innovatively
Experience working closely with manufacturing and test teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
