Rebar Estimator and Detailer
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Rebar Estimator and Detailer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking a project through the preconstruction phase, including estimating and detailing rebar requirements, and then passing the project off to the project manager. The candidate should have experience in rebar estimation, detailing, and an understanding of structural design to provide accurate and timely estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project drawings and specifications to assess rebar requirements.
- Prepare detailed rebar estimates for labor, materials, and equipment needed for each project.
- Create and develop detailed rebar shop drawings, including bending schedules and rebar placement drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure rebar detailing aligns with the structural design.
- Work closely with clients and vendors to clarify material requirements and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Manage the preconstruction phase of projects, ensuring estimates and detailed drawings are completed and ready for handoff to the project manager.
- Review and address any changes or revisions to project drawings and update estimates and details accordingly.
- Ensure all rebar detailing adheres to industry standards and company guidelines.
- Assist in coordinating with project managers and field crews during the transition phase for execution.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Rebar Estimator and Detailer, with a strong understanding of rebar estimation and detailing processes.
- Solid knowledge of structural design, rebar codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, vendors, and project managers.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
