Position Summary:

The Crane Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for automated system setup and programming, equipment start up services and complex control system installation and troubleshooting of crane systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Implement and program new automated systems, ensuring their smooth operation from commencement.
  • Provide on-site start-up services for new equipment systems, ensuring their seamless operation from commencement.
  • Install and troubleshoot complex control systems and their components, ensuring their optimal functioning.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to address complex issues and facilitate continuous improvement of automation processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all completed installation projects.
  • Develop and undertake corrective actions in response to equipment malfunction or system abnormalities.
  • Document all testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities accurately.
  • Perform system upgrades as per manufacturer releases and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on controls modifications and improvements.
  • Train lower-level technicians as necessary.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems promptly and effectively.
  • Coordinate with clients to define project parameters, deliverables, and timeline.
  • Provide ongoing technical support, offering timely resolutions to maintain optimal system operation.
  • Generate detailed reports outlining system performance, upgrades, and maintenance checks.
  • Provide efficient and detailed-oriented training to operators, ensuring their proficiency in system operation.
  • Train staff members on system use and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or a similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in automation software, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Independence and minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional interaction with all levels of management and customers.
  • Travel as required including weekends 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years experience in advanced overhead crane eclectics

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and variable temperatures.
